Henry Thomas and Robin Tunney are about to be reunited.

The actors, who appeared together in 1997′s Niagara, Niagara as lovers, will take on a different relationship for at least one episode of The Mentalist this season: Thomas has been cast as Teresa Lisbon’s brother. He will pop up in late October.

The Mentalist, meanwhile, returns on September 22.

The Mentalist star Simon Baker has admitted that he doesn’t want his character Patrick Jane to get together with Lisbon (Robin Tunney).

He told TV Guide that the pair’s current relationship has “a nice adolescent quality”.

“It’s like [when] you have a friend who’s a girl, and you can kind of hit on them,” he explained. “But then they look at you like, ‘Did you just hit on me?’”

However, Baker admitted that Jane and Lisbon’s relationship could progress in the future.

“When [the series ends], we could get them together,” he suggested.

His co-star Tunney previously suggested that federal agent Libson is “unsentimental” and “kind of a lone wolf” :

The creator of The Mentalist has suggested that Lisbon’s recent dalliance with Walter Mashburn was just a fling.

Bruno Heller told TV Guide that he does not expect Walter (Currie Graham) to return to the show in the near future.

“Probably not this year,” he said. “Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is a very unsentimental character. As she indicated at the end of that episode, she’s happy to have a bit of human contact, but she’s kind of a lone wolf in that respect.”

He added: “It just shows that there is a softer side to her and she needs love and companionship like anyone else, but then she just moves on.”

Baker also revealed that the show’s third season will conclude with a two-hour finale and warned fans to expect “a lot of big ‘holy crap’ moments”.
