 The shooting for “The Mentalist” season 4 ended on Friday, April 20. The shooting for the upcoming season 5 will begin in July this year. Creator Bruno Heller commented on the season 4 finale. ATTENTION – Spoiler alert!

Creator Bruno Heller wants to be very upfront about something: “I don’t think I’ll be giving too much away to say that Red John does not die in this episode,” he says with a laugh. Although Patrick Jane won’t catch his nemesis, he will meet a cocktail waitress (Emmanuelle Chriqui), for whom he falls head over heels. “She comes into Jane’s life at a very, very low ebb,” Heller says. “He’s at a moment when he really needs a helping hand and a little ray of light, and she provides that. And then things start to get weird.” So weird, in fact, that Jane shoots one of his own team members! What? “Don’t believe everything you see,” Heller teases.

Ray Wise (“Twin Peaks,” “How I Met Your Mother”) guest stars as Dennis Victor, the owner of a brokerage firm where the CBI’s latest victim was an employee.
